We recommend the following measurements to get between 8-10 rotis:

- 2 cups for whole wheat/white flour

- 1 & 1/6 cup of luke warm water

- 1 teaspoon of salt

- 1 tablespoon of any vegetable or cooking oil

The best way to use The Roti Maker is by applying 2-3 medium pressure presses to your dough. The softer your dough, the less pressure you will need to apply.

If you are using dough from the fridge or cold dough, it's best to allow the dough to come back to room temperature. You can do this by either letting the dough sit outside the fridge for 15-20 minutes or you can knead your dough to make it soft again.

The best way to keep your rotis thin is by keeping your dough super soft. The softer your dough the easier it will be to make perfect thin roti.

There can be a number of reasons why your roti is tearing when you are pressing the dough down.

If your dough is too dry, cold or not prepared with the recommended measurements, the dough will not press into a perfect circle. Its best to use super soft and warm dough for best results.

Ensure your dough is moist and that your dough has been pressed into the ideal shape, lift the top plate and let the roti cook for 20 seconds to lock in the moisture on the bottom side.

Flip the roti and let it cook for 30-45 seconds, this will lock in the moisture from the top.

Flip the roti one last time and close the top plate down on the roti. The heat from the top plate will activate the steam made from the moisture trapped in the middle of the roti making the roti puff up and cook thoroughly.

Keep in mind, this takes some practice!

The curved dish model comes with a 10 inch marble plate. The largest size roti that can be made on The Roti Maker is 10 inches, however we recommend keeping the roti between 8-9 inches max to ensure the roti has room to puff and rise.

There are a number of different ways where our product is the most superior in the market. To start, The Roti Maker comes with 10 inch marble plates that are both heated and curved. The heated top and bottom plates make it easier to press and make a round roti and the curved dish makes it easier to flip the roti.

Most other machines on the market are either 8 inch or made of a flat non-stick coated pan and the top plate is not usually heated, so the machines are harder to use, don't flatten the roti right and not user friendly.

Tips to use The Roti Maker safely: 
1. Always use potholders to avoid burns. 
2. Avoid handles hanging over the edge of the strove, table, so it's out of reach of children. This is to prevent The Roti Maker being knocked off the surface accidentally. 
3. Turn all handles away from you to avoid accidental spills and burns. 
4. Once you are finished using the machine, set it aside away from reach of children so the machine can reach room temperature. Do not clean the machine while the cooking surface is still hot.
